GEM CITY COMIC CON 2021

Next weekend, July 23rd & 24th, I’ll be in Dayton, Ohio for the Gem City Comic Con! I hope to see lots of friends and fans there! I’m fully vaxxed and looking forward to getting back into the convention swing of things. Hope you are too!

STANLEY’S GHOST, EISNER NOMINEE!

Wow, I haven’t updated in a long time and I got some amazing news not too long ago!

JOHN CARPENTER PRESENTS STORM KIDS: STANLEY’S GHOST was nominated for an Eisner Award in the Best Single Issue category. Sending out a big salute to all my cohorts who also worked on it — Jeff Balke (writing & colors), Dave Alvarez (interior & cover art), Janice Chiang (letters), and the captain of the ship, Sandy King Carpenter!

The awards will be announced sometime in July during Comic-Con @ Home (next weekend, the 22nd through the 25th, I believe).

JOHN CARPENTER PRESENTS STORM KIDS STANLEY’S GHOST

AUG201600
(W) Paul D. Storrie (CA) Jeff Balke (A/CA) David Alvarez

Oh no!  Who’s been stealing fruit from all the gardens in Arbordale?  Was it the prankster Chester Chipmunk? Or maybe Baby Fang? Accusations fly until someone suggests that maybe it was the Ghost of Bunnyburrow Manor! Neighbors have claimed to have seen it flying around, but are ghosts even real? And if they are, why would they be stealing fruit? Stanley Squirrel offers to lead an expedition into the house to see if it really is haunted and find out just what’s been going on.  But as the gang creeps around the house looking for answers, what they find isn’t what any of them were expecting!

In Shops: Oct 07, 2020

Just copy down that Order Code (Aug201600) and take it to your local comic shop. That’s all they need to get you a copy. Or a bunch. Entirely up to you!

And, yes, the John Carpenter presenting this? It’s THAT John Carpenter!

The Latest & Greatest (& Not So Greatest)

While I’m normally pretty excited when a new book hits the shelves, I realized that VIKING QUEEN: THE SLEEPERS IN SHADOW has been out a week now and I hadn’t updated. Partly that’s because a lot of comic stores across the country (and the world) are shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It seems odd to hype a book that most people can’t go out and get.

VIKING QUEEN: The Sleepers In Shadow

That said, THE SLEEPERS IN SHADOW is available from the Source Point Press store. What’s more, Source Point is doing your local comics retailer a solid by sending them cash if you let SPP know your LCS when you buy from the site. See the video for details.

Oh, right! The other reason I haven’t been quick to post is that I’m in the process of moving house during a pandemic. Not an optimal situation, to be sure.

Hope you’re staying safe and well! My best to all out there who are afflicted and otherwise affected. See you on the other side!

Planet Comicon Postponed

Disappointed that Planet Comicon is having to postpone due to the Covid-19 crisis. Still, I salute them for making the hard call and looking out for their fans, guests, exhibitors, and staff.

Hope that I’ll be able to attend when the show is rescheduled!

GREAT LAKES COMIC CONVENTION!

Great Lakes Comic Convention

I’m starting off my 2020 convention season with a terrific local show!

It’s the 10th Anniversary of the Great Lakes Comic Convention and they’re pulling out all the stops. Lots of great guests, exhibitors, and even prizes!

The show takes place at the Macomb Community College Expo Center at 14500 E. 12 Mile Road in Warren, Michigan. Doors open Friday, February 21 at 5 PM and the fun goes until 9 PM. Then Saturday, show hours are 10 PM to 6 PM.

Come see me at Booth 828 either day. Or both! I’ll have plenty of copies of the new HARLEY QUINN & THE GOTHAM GIRLS Collection, along with lots of other comics, and will happily sign any of my stuff that you bring along. No charge!

Harley Quinn & the Gotham Girls Collected Edition

Storrieville Bookshop Is Live!

I kept saying I was going to set up an online store. Now, thanks to the folks at Square (same folks I use for credit card sales), I’ve followed through. Want to check out what’s available? Simply click “Storrieville Bookshop” link in the menu on every page! (Or the one right here.)

Sadly, I don’t have copies of every book I’ve written for sale. I’ll try to make as many available as possible.

Right now, I’m set up for flat rate shipping prices. They’re higher than I’d like, but it’ll be awhile before I can shift over to multiple shipping rate options.

Interview with the Pop Culture Squad!

Harley Quinn & the Gotham Girls Collected Edition

The Pop Culture Squad is a swell website devoted to comics, movies, gaming, and…well, you guessed it: all aspects of pop culture. Recently, I had a chance to chat with Bob Harrison about the upcoming release of Harley Quinn & the Gotham Girls (collecting the 2002-2003 Gotham Girls mini-series) and the upcoming second Viking Queen story, The Sleepers in Shadow! Hope you enjoy reading/listening as much as we did talking.

Poison Ivy fans: I expect some of you will be gunning for me after this, but I want to assure you that I love Ivy a whole lot. Maybe just in a slightly different way than you do.
